Magic Kingdom - November 3rd - 5th Day

This was our big day at Magic Kingdom.  Dominic found all of these waiting for him when he woke up:
Coupons for Main Street Bakery, Aloha Isle (Dole Whip) & his first Mickey ears!!!  Also invitations for lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern and dinner at Narcoossee's.  When we got back that night he got the "I Survived Splash Mountain" certificate.

We got to the park 45 minutes before it opened.  We decided to not watch the show and go straight for lining up.  We were first in line!
They did the countdown and we took off half walking/half running down Main Street.  Immediately the CM's were shoving us onto the sidewalks.  Apparently there was a band getting pictures taken on Main Street.  I was filming as we walked by and I took footage of them but didn't know who they were.  When we got home, I did a little research and found out it was the band "One Republic" doing commercial for Disney's 2012 promo.  Cool!!!

Dominic quick ran ahead and I took a photo of him in front of the castle.
We did some quick Photopass pics as well...
Then it was off to Dumbo!  On our first trip we didn't ride Dumbo.  It was a walk on at this point in the morning so we were super stoked!
The Beast's castle... cannot WAIT till this is opened!!!
Dominic having the time of his life!
The back view of the castle.
A view of the pretty much empty Fantasyland.  I swear by rope drop every morning.  There's no other way to enjoy Disney.
We headed straight for Peter Pan and got fastpasses then we rode it...
on our pirate ship:
trying to pull that sword out:
Pooh was a walk on.
Then we headed over to Space Mountain.  I didn't go on this last time and Dominic was just tall enough to ride it this time so I talked him into it.  He had no idea what he was in for.  Dominic is NOT a fan of rollercoasters and this thing is single rider seats... so I sat behind him and held onto him the whole time... poor guy.
In the line.
Yeah, he was scared.
But he made it!
2 thumbs up from Dominic!
Then we quickly rode Buzz... walk on.
We checked out Carousel of Progress and we were singing the song by the end of the show... we had lots of fun.
Then we saw these two chipmunks out!
And this guy was taking a pineapple break:
Dominic was checking out the castle:
and then we got some Photopass pics taken:
we started making our way back down Main Street to get ourselves some breakfast and we saw this...
Main Street Bakery... yum!  We stood in line for about 20 minutes but it was well worth it.
Our cinnamon roll:
2 snack credits used - 6 snack credits left
Actual Cost - Cinnamon Roll ($3.49) Milk ($2.19)
Grand Dining Total - $521.51
The cinnamon roll was sooo good & plenty for 2 people.  We were full after that.  We took a stroll over to the candy shop to check out everything there... yum!!!
When we walked out there was some singing and dancing going on (of course!  this IS Disney World after all)... we sat and watched and danced oursevles a bit.
Then we went and bought some Mickey ears finally.
We got our names embroidered on the back.
I saw this shadow and couldn't resist taking a picture.
some Christmas decor:
Photopass pics:
Then we were walking around looking for something to do and came across the Tiki Room.  This was being refurbished on our last trip so we decided to try it out this time around.  We were the last ones admitted for the next show (perfect timing!)
The show was awesome, we loved it.  We still sing the song daily.
We headed over to Splash Mountain and it took a good 10 minutes to talk Dominic into the ride.  Then we got fastpasses for it.
We headed over to Philharmagic to waste some time and sat in line for about 10  minutes before they came out and said they were having technical difficulties with the show.
This was our stockpile of fastpasses.
We found Pixie Hollow and got in line to meet Tinkerbell and one of her friends.  On our last trip, Tinkerbell was still in Epcot and it was only her.  We were excited to meet another fairy.
It was Rosetta!!!
Tinkerbell talked about Wisconsin and Cheese (her mouse, not the food).
After the meetngreet we headed over to Liberty Tree Tavern, it was time for our lunch ADR.

There was a wooden table with crayons and coloring pages for the kids.  Dominic grabbed one and got to work.  About a minute later a kid came over and grabbed the paper away from Dominic... apparently he had colored the backside.  Dominic being the good boy, let him have it and said he would just take another one.  I was so proud of him.
We were seated within 5 minutes of checking in.

I got a root beer in one of their cool mugs.
My appetizer:
Tavern Fried Cheese - with marinara sauce $5.49
I had to send a picture of this to my husband who literally lives off of food like this... I knew he would be jealous.
New England Pot Roast... Our Tavern Keeper's Favorite - braised beef in a cabernet wine and mushroom sauce served with mashed potatoes and garden vegetables $17.99
This was amazing.  I loved it so much but was only able to eat about half because it was just sooo much.
Johnny Appleseed Cake & Ice Cream - shortbread crust, sugared apples, and butterscotch ice cream $6.49
Super yummy... but once again, I was full already.  Darn that Disney Dining Plan!!!
Dominic ordered Cheese Pizza - with veggies and sliced apples $8.59
and loved it.
2 table service credits used - 8 table service credits left
Actual Cost - $45.85
Grand Dining Total - $567.36

We loved it there and I'm hoping we can squeeze it in on our next trip somehow.

After leaving LTT we saw this guy:
Then we headed straight for Splash Mountain.  Dominic was NOT happy but we did it and we made it.  Even though you can't see him in the picture they took going down the hill at all... lol... he's in my lap hiding
I was so proud of him for riding that!  We saw Jack Sparrow doing his pirate tutorial and decided to sit in for that.
There was a point in his show when he was saying "to be a good pirate you have to make sure you're dressed right, you have your hair done, you're a little dirty and that you can pose for pictures like this" then he posed for MY camera... lol.  I was so not ready for this and that's why his head is half cut off but hey, I got it.
Then he picked a bunch of kids to come up on stage and take the pirate oath and Dominic got picked!  Yay!!!
He was so excited.  He got a certificate from Jack Sparrow that's hanging in his room now.
Then we went over to Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor.  Loved this the last trip so we were excited to do it again!
When we got out we could hear the "Celebrate" parade going on so we watched from a distance.
Then we headed over to Town Square to meet a few characters...
These guys were awesome.  Mickey made smooching noises when he hugged me.  Awww...
Then we got in line for the princesses.  Dominic loves him some princesses.
Sleeping Beauty was so sweet.

Belle taught Dominic how to hold his arms like a prince.
Then she gave him a handsome reward:
Then he got to kiss her!
What a lucky little man!!!
and Cinderella
He looks so excited!
We decided to head over to the Grand Floridian for our ADR.  The monorail got stuck at the Contemporary for awhile since they were adding another train but that was okay since we had so much extra time.  We got to the Grand Floridian with so much time to spare.
We checked out the live band in the lobby, then the gift shops, a bit of the property then we ended up back in the lobby to relax for a bit and watch some cartoons.
We changed in the bathrooms and headed over to Narcoossee's a bit earlier than our ADR.
We waited about 3 minutes before getting called to our table.
You can see in the picture above, the castle in the distance.
Dominic looking all super handsome.

Our bread basket came with the sea salt butter... yum!

As an appetizer Dominic ordered:
Fresh Fruit Cup $3.00
That looked soo good!

For the entree he got:
Grilled Top Sirloin Steak - with Mashed Potatoes and Vegetables $12.00
Seriously! On the kid's menu!  Yum!

and his dessert:
Nemo Cupcake $5.00
Everyone around us thought it was his birthday but no, that's just the Nemo cupcake.
Best dessert ever Dominic said.

For my appetizer I got:
Artisanal Cheeses - Humboldt Fog, Fourme D'Ambert, and Brillat-Savarin $15all

Thank goodness for the list of cheeses.  I only liked 2 out of 5.  Dominic enjoyed the baguettes.

Me being the seafood lover that I am, could not pass up this entree:
Steamed Whole Maine Lobster - Drawn Butter, Potato Gratin, and Asparagus $58
It was amazing.  I loved everything about it and actually ate. it. all.
Yum.

For dessert I went light and got:
No Sugar Added Dessert - Mango sorbet with melon, pineapple and berries $8
This was very refreshing and I didn't feel like I was about to explode afterwards.

The entire dinner was amazing and such a great experience to have with Dominic on our last night in Disney World.  We talked with a couple next to us for about half of the meal.  The woman had been coming here since she had babies of her own and her new husband fell in love with Disney even after saying he wouldn't.  They were a joy and she just loved listening to Dominic jibber jabber about every ride he went on this whole trip.

4 table service credits used - 4 table service credits left
Actual Cost  - $120.01
Grand Dining Total - $687.37

After dinner we quickly ran over to the boat dock and caught one over to Magic Kingdom.  They made a few pit stops along the way but that was okay.  We needed to relax a bit after that meal.  The ride was excellent, just perfect during the sunset.  I called my dad and told him we were on a boat ride right then.

By the time we got back it was dark.  We got a few Photopass pictures taken.
We tried to find a spot to sit on Main Street but that wasn't happening.  Every single spot had been claimed.  We found a spot near Casey's on the corner... a lady said she was reserving some spots for her kids (she had 2 jackets laying on the ground) but there was still plenty of space.  I still got the vibe that we weren't welcomed there and I really didn't feel like sitting there for another 45 minutes before the parade started... so we left.

a beautiful side view of the castle at night:
and we made our way over to Philharmagic which was up and running... Dominic with his 3D glasses on:
Then Dominic took a picture of me:
The famous doors to the theater:
Afterwards we went over to ride Haunted Mansion for the 3rd time that day.  Then we caught the Electrical Parade.  We hadn't seen this the first time we were there and I wasn't planning on waiting around for it this time but here we were.  3 people deep and Dominic couldn't see so I put him up on my shoulders.  For 20 minutes!  Geez is that parade long!  I couldn't handle it anymore so I had to make him get down and tried to video the rest so he could see it later.  Next time we'll be sure to catch that though!
After the parade we followed it all the way through Adventureland till we got to Aloha Isle and got our first Dole Whip of the trip.
These were smaller than I remembered but so yummy.  We took turns eating it while walking out of the park.

1 snack credit used - 5 snack credits left
Actual Cost - $3.49
Grand Dining Total - $690.86

Main Street was mayhem.  People standing everywhere to see Wishes which started in less than 5 minutes.  We should have stayed but I still had to pack everything up and get us all ready for our early morning departure.  Just as we boarded the bus to get back to Pop, the fireworks began.

When we got back to the hotel, we filled up our mugs and packed everything up.  I wanted everything ready to go in the morning.  We fell asleep by 11:30 and got up for 5:30.

Dominic thought we would just be hanging out at the resort all day till our flight left at 4:10... I had a surprise in store for him.
